Makin' Bacon
©2012 Douglas Brake. Music and Lyrics by Douglas Brake.
Makin' bacon on a Saturday morning. Is really one of my favorite things to do.
The only thing I love more than makin' bacon.
Is eatin' the bacon I made the whole day through.
CHORUS
'Cause the bacon goes
Sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle.
Sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle.
Sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle.
Pop, sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle, hiss
And the bacon goes
Sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle.
Sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle.
Sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle.
Pop, sizzle, hiss, pop, sizzle, hisssssss
Microwave it, oven bake it, I prefer my bacon.
Cooked wide open fried up in a pan.
Make sure to flip your bacon with a spatula, fork or tongs.
So you won't burn the bacon or your hands.
CHORUS
Bacon down for me.
Makin' bacon.
For goodness sakin'.
Everybody's wakin' to the smell of my bacon.
There's no mistaken when the house start shaking.
That everybody's racing to the kitchen for a piece of my bacon.
The fast we are breakin'.
We ain't Corn Flakin'.
We're eatin' that bacon.
Makin' bacon on a Saturday morning.
Is really one of my favorite things.
The smell of cooking bacon is music to my nose.
Let's listen as that bacon starts to sing.
CHORUS
There's A Puppy Sleeping On My Hand
©2012 Douglas Brake. Music and Lyrics by Douglas Brake.
There's a puppy sleeping on my hand. And my hand is asleep beneath the puppy.
There's a puppy sleeping on my hand.
And my hand is asleep beneath the puppy.
There's a puppy sleeping on my hand.
And my hand is asleep beneath the puppy.
There's a puppy sleeping on my hand.
And my hand fell asleep 'cause the puppy fell asleep on my hand.
There's a kitten sleeping on my foot.
And my foot is asleep beneath the kitten.
There's a kitten sleeping on my foot.
And my foot is asleep beneath the kitten.
There's a kitten sleeping on my foot.
And my foot is asleep beneath the kitten.
There's a kitten sleeping on my foot.
And my foot fell asleep 'cause the kitten fell asleep on my foot.
They laid down, laid down.
And fell fast asleep.
Now I feel it in my fingers, feel it in my toes.
Prickly, tickly hands and feet.
There's a puppy sleeping on my hand.
And my hand is asleep beneath the puppy.
There's a kitten sleeping on my foot.
And my foot is asleep beneath the kitten.
There's a puppy sleeping on my hand.
And my hand is asleep beneath the puppy.
'Cause my hand fell asleep 'cause the puppy fell asleep.
And my foot fell asleep 'cause the kitten fell asleep.
Well, you hand and your foot.
Will fall asleep when you put.
A sleepy kitten on your foot.
And a puppy is sleeping on your hand.
I said, you hand and your foot
Will fall asleep when you put
A sleepy kitten on your foot
And a puppy is sleeping on your hand.
Where Are You Shoes?
©2012 Douglas Brake. Music and Lyrics by Douglas Brake.
Of all the things that I could lose.I always seem to lose my shoes.
I never can recall the last place.
Where I sat down and unlaced.
My shoes.
Shoes, shoes, where are you?
I surely do wish.
That I knew.
I know you must be hiding in the house somewhere.
Maybe underneath the couch or over by the big chair.
I can't go outside.
Play ball down the street.
Until I put you.
On my feet.
So shoes, shoes, where are you?
I surely do wish I knew.
I surely do wish I knew.
Play a little somethin' while I look for my shoes
Shoes, shoes, where are you?
I don't have a single clue.
I took you off a little while ago.
But where I was.
I don't know.
Are you in my room?
Are you on the stairs?
I think I've looked just about everywhere.
So shoes, shoes, where are you?
I surely do wish I knew.
I surely do wish I knew.
Mom and Dad get SO mad.
Every time I lose my shoes (and they lose their temper).
They always ask me if I have.
Looked in bathroom.
Looked in the den.
I say, "I looked there".
They say "go look again!".
Shoes, shoes, where are you?
I surely do wish.
That I knew.
I know that you're hidin' in the house somewhere.
Maybe underneath the couch or over by the big chair.
I can't go outside.
Play in the backyard.
Come out, come out, wherever you are.
Shoes, shoes, where are you?
I surely do wish I knew.
I surely do wish I knew.
Where are you shoes?
Where are you shoes?
Somebody give me the good news that you found my shoes.
Where are you shoes?
Where are you shoes?
Where are you shoes?
Where are you shoes?

Good Night
©2012 Douglas Brake. Music and Lyrics by Douglas Brake.
When the pale moon smiles. And the stars sparkle dance.
When the night paints the sky black as coal.
When you eyes close tired.
And the sound goes silent.
I will say good night.
When the barn owl hunts.
And the firefly's bulb glows.
When the crickets play that cricket song we all know.
When you legs lay weary.
And your breath draws slow.
I will say good night.
CHORUS
Goodnight.
God, Mom and I.
Are watching over you.
The whole night through.
And daybreak.
Is but a sweet dream away.
So I will say good night to you.
I will say good night to you.
When the flood light moths frenzy.
The spider spins her web.
The squirrels in the trees.
Gather leaves for a bed.
Buried warm in blankets.
Soft pillow for your head.
I will say good night.
CHORUS

Well I was walking in the backyard the other dayWhen I stepped on something that smooshed like clay
It was icky and sticky and stinky and brown
And when I stepped in it
It made a (Smoosh sound here) sound
CHORUS
Whaddya do do do
When you step in Doggie Doodle
Whaddya doo doo doo
When you step in Doggie Doodle
You do, do, do the stepped in Doggie Doodle dance
You, do, do the stepped in Doggie Doodle dance
First you drag your shoe across the grass real slow
Then you stomp, stomp your heel
Then tap, tap your toe
Shake and kick, Shake and kick till the doodle lets go
Repeat as necessary now that you know
CHORUS
First you drag your shoe across the grass real slow
Then you stomp, stomp your heel
Then tap, tap your toe
Shake and kick, Shake and kick till the doodle lets go
I just remembered one other trick you might want to know
Now that you are stuck in the groove of this Doggie Doodle Song
But the doodle's stuck in the grooves of the shoe you have on
One final move has my approval for doodle removal
Find a hose, let is flow and away the problem goes
The Doggie Doodle hasn't got a fighting chance Against a blast of water and the doggie doodle dance
CHORUS
Well it's a fact of life there's no avoiding it
Someday when you're walking you will step in dog . . .
Shout it
CHORUSx 2
Let's review
First, step in Doggie Doodle
Next, drag your shoe across the grass real slow
Now stomp your heal and tap your toe
Very good
Now shake and kick your shoe until that doodle lets go
And if all else fails
Spray your shoe off with a garden hose
Repeat as necessary and thanks for listening.

Pass The Yawn
©2012 Douglas Brake. Music and Lyrics by Douglas Brake.
YawningIs a funny thing
That our bodies force us to do
And if you see me yawning
With little or no warning
You might find yourself yawning too
So (Yawn)
CHORUS
Pass the yawn
Pass the yawn
I yawn, then you yawn then we pass it on
Pass the yawn
Pass the yawn
You'll probably yawn during this song.
Yawning
Is a mystery
To the scientists who study why we yawn (how do ya get that job?)
When tired or bored
Its so hard to avoid a yawn filled with sweet oxygen
Can you see all my teeth?
When my mouth opens up wide
Or the strain on my face from the yawn I tried to hide
I know you were watching from across this place
'Cause I see that a yawn is now stretching your face
CHORUS
So hey there fellow
Did I see you yawn during my solo?
Can I offer you a pillow?
So you can sleep, sleep, sleep
While we keep, keep, keep
Playing this song about passing the yawn, yawn, yawn
Yawning
Is a crazy thing
That our bodies force us to do
And if you see me yawning
You bet I am going to
Pass that yawn right on to you
CHORUS
No matter what your age is
A yawn is contagious
You might find this song completely outrageous
CHORUS
I yawn, then you yawn, then she yawns, then he yawns and on and on and yawn and yawn and yawn
Yawns will go on forever and ever
Let's all take a moment and yawn together
Pass the yawn.
It Was A Goat
©2012 Douglas Brake. Music and Lyrics by Douglas Brake.
CHORUSIt was a goat
That took my boat
For a float out on the sea
I never knew
A billy goat
Could Captain and crew a boat
Better than me
I made a note
To take the goat
Off the boat
But the goat
Ate the note
That I wrote to remind me
To take the goat
Off the boat
And down his throat the note is hard to read
And so the goat
Took my boat
For a float out on the sea
You may ask why
I had a goat on my boat?
I thought he'd make for fine company
You may ask why not a dog or a cat or a parrot
Or a chimpanzee?
Because think about it. A chimpanzee would be way cooler than a goat.
CHORUS
So if you see
A billy goat
Sailing a boat out on the sea
Say Ahoy there goat
I have here note
From the owner of this boat for you to read.
And if the goat
Can read the note
That I wrote
I sure hope
That he takes it quite seriously.
It reads - Dear Billy Goat
Hope you are enjoying your vacation on the High Seas
Now, come back with my boat!
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty please!
You may ask why
I had a goat on my boat
I thought he'd make for fine company.
You may ask why not a duck or a ferret or even a hive of Honey Bees?
O.K. Bees on a boat is probably not the best idea - but I do like honey.
CHORUS
So if the goat
Eats my note
Then sails the boat
Back home safely
Both you and I
Will be surprised
The Billy goat can sail and read.
CHORUS
So all hail captain Billy goat
Billy goat
So all hail captain Billy goat
Billy goat
So all hail captain Billy goat
Billy goat
The Billy goat that sails the sea.
